We had one of each and both were excellent. There were two choices of main course a mixed grill and a fish mixed grill. Served with a good serving of lettuce were prawns, mussels, smoked salmon and seafood mousse, all complimented with a very nice dressing. My husband and I both chose the seafood salad as a starter.
#Beaulieu sur dordogne restaurant full
Looking at the full menu we were a little disappointed as there was not much choice and nothing jumped out as being just what we wanted, but whilst we were looking at the menu the waiter brought over the blackboard with the menu of the day at 19 euros which looked perfect. so we sat outside in a very inviting area with plenty of shade provided. It was a sunny day and the terrace was open. My birthday fell on a Monday this year and most of the restaurants in the area are closed on a Monday so we were pleased to be able to get a reservation at The Beaulieu.

We will be back soon and thank the staff for their attention, including the lady at reception. The duo of lamb was three lamb cutlets and a small portion of sweetbreads and was served with roasted peppers and vegetables.Īll the starters and main courses were copious but we had of course saved room for desert (its the law isn't it!)Īn enjoyable meal with a varied and tasty selection of food delivered by well trained and pleasant servers, and eaten in a covid safe environment. Definitely one to go back for and not a dish seen often in rural France. It was served with bulgar grains which had citrus fruit in it and was really tasty. The tuna tataki was really good with plenty of rare tuna in a sesame and wasabi dressing and had a tang of something elusive and sharp. The scallops were fresh and complemented particularly by the grapefruit. It was beautifully presented and was a really fresh and clean starter. The ceviche was thinly sliced scallops in sesame oil and citrus juice, served with roasted lettuce, orange and grapefruit, and finely sliced radish. opted for the a la carte and had a very enjoyable meal.īetween us the dishes we had were the ceviche of scallops, the tataki tuna and the duo of lamb. Not wanting the Menu de Jour we (four of us). Having eaten regularly at the Beaulieu, but less frequently of late, we were surprised to see that apart from the Menu de Jour, there were no further menus on option, only the a la carte.
